Introduction to the Yojimbo-Talk Discussion List

We ask that all users read this document and look at the charter to see the acceptable uses of this mailing list.

Everyone using these lists is expected to abide by the rules in these files. We don't consider ignorance of the rules an excuse for unacceptable behavior. Please work with us to make this a fun, interesting and educational place to be.

IMPORTANT:
Administrative messages sent to the mailing lists will have a subject that begins with "[admin]". Please read these messages, as they have important information about the state of the lists and systems and changes that might affect how you use it.

  1. The Yojimbo-Talk Discussion List

    The Yojimbo-Talk list is intended for discussion of Yojimbo, Bare Bones Software's new information organizer. Suitable topics include Yojimbo's use for collecting and retrieving information for various tasks, questions about existing product features, etc.

    We host discussion lists for each of our other products as well. Please visit the links listed on the right side of this page for more details.

  2. Who to contact for help and advice

    The List Manager for this list is:

    Please try to follow the directions. If you can't make things work, drop us a note and we'll be happy to help. Try us second, though: we're your helpers, not your baby-sitters. The less time we need to spend doing administrative things, the more time we can spend creating better software for you.

  3. Subscription Info: Important Email Addresses

    To subscribe or unsubscribe to a mailing list, you must send an e-mail message to the appropriate address (listed below).

    You should get a confirmation e-mail or error warning for subscribe/unsubscribe message you send to the list server. If you didn't, something went wrong. Try it again, and if it still doesn't work, contact listadmin@barebones.com for help.

  4. Sending messages to the mailing lists

    To post to the mailing list, send mail to:
    Yojimbo-Talk@barebones.com

    You must be a subscriber to the list to post to it. The list server will not recognize you as a subscriber except when you are sending mail from the account that you are subscribed with.

  5. Charter: What's Acceptable, What's Not

    This discussion list is intended for any current or prospective users of our new information organizer, Yojimbo. Suitable topics include Yojimbo's use for collecting and retrieving information for various tasks, questions about existing product features, etc.

    Please also note that if you have specific questions about Yojimbo itself, if you need to report a bug, or if you have any other product- related questions, you should contact support@barebones.com directly. Although we will monitor this list, and will attempt to answer all relevant postings, we cannot guarantee that we will be able to respond as rapidly as we can to direct contacts.

  6. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

    All messages to the list are archived and we hope to have a searchable archive available soon.

    If you aren't sure how to access the World Wide Web or FTP services from your site, please ask your local administrators for advice, since this varies for different organizations and types of computers. If you can't get help locally, please send email to the list administrator, and we will do what we can to get you started.
